TATE MODERN ANNOUNCED AS VENUE FOR LONDON FINISHING EVENT
03 Sep 2010

Duplo International, supported by Finishing Alliance partners Friedheim International and RENZ, have announced that their second annual London Calling event will be hosted at the Tate Modern.

The event is the first where all Finishing Alliance partners will exhibit as one and it will run October 6th, 7th and 8th in the Tate Modern's prestigious East Room on the top floor of the gallery.

On show for the first time in the UK will be Friedheim's new MBO T535EA folder and Duplo's mid level Digital System 3500 bookletmaker with squareback. Renz will be showcasing their wide range of semi automatic desktop and high production binding equipment, including the market leading MOBI 500 calendar and wire binder.

Tony Lock, Managing Director Duplo UK comments: "Finishing had a great IPEX and our London show last year was our most successful on record, we thought it was a great opportunity to ride on the crest of the IPEX wave and run a London Calling II. We are thrilled to secure such an iconic venue as the Tate Modern."

"We do understand, however, that there needs to be a very good reason to come to any print machine show, especially after an IPEX, and we believe the Finishing Alliance partnership is that reason. We have the widest range of automated and precise finishing equipment available under one roof. We encourage print companies to come along with their finishing needs and issues; as an Alliance we can find the right solution from all our ranges that suit specific requirements."

Onsite will be a live 'Finishing Alliance Zone' showcasing an example of how the equipment within the three companies can work together to turn print into finished product.

Peter Morris, Managing Director at Friedheim International, comments.

"Following a very successful IPEX 2010 the need to continue our aim of demonstrating the very best of post-press equipment is paramount. The new MBO T535EA folding machine is an example of bringing the latest technology to the UK market in an effort to strive for greater efficiency and the lowering of production costs through innovation and automation!"

Notable products on show include Duplo's Duetto digital and offset hybrid bookletmaker, Digital System 5000Pro, Digital System 445 plus DC-645 with integrated folder and Ultra 200 Mini UV Coater. Alongside the new MBO T535EA folder, Friedheim will be showcasing the Audion Dempack H22A mobile wrapping machine and Hang 114-00-4 drill. RENZ will have their semi automatic desktop binding range, including the popular DTP 340A, plus production level equipment including AP 360 high speed punch, APSI 300 automatic coil inserter and the MOBI 500 calendar and wire binder.

Iain Bullock, Managing Director at RENZ UK comments: "The finishing alliance is the perfect solution for RENZ to showcase it's punching and binding solutions; when you put RENZ, Duplo and Friedheim together you have a hugely successful array of finishing kit capable of achieving exactly what the customer wants. We have a tremendously broad range of equipment which fits at every level whether it be the MOBI 500 which just sells itself with its high outputs and simple make ready or our semi automated unique bench top punching and binding solutions we feel we can give the customer what they need."

According to Duplo, the show is aimed primarily at commercial printers, in plant print managers and design companies 'who are looking for a way to either cut costs or differentiate their business with finishing'. Duplo will also be asking their regional dealers and digital press vendor partners to invite their own customer base to the show to see their finishing range.

The Finishing Alliance will also host a VIP night on Thursday 7th October where guests will have a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to tour the Tate Modern completely empty.
